In a rather radical condition, but also of extreme simplicity, Symposiumis rooted in the value of instant writing, given by the meeting of Davide Valrosso with a musician, from the city, town or village that will host the performance. Symposium consists of a practice of availability, to move towards one's partner, in an action of "migration" and mutual availability. On stage a single element, a box, with which the public is called to interact, add their own thought or encouragement for the future. The box will travel with David, from square to square, thus creating invisible and anonymous relationships between unknown people.

Dans une condition assez radicale, mais aussi d'une extrême simplicité, Symposium plongeses racines dans la valeur de l'écriture instantanée, donnée par la rencontre de Davide Valrosso avec un musicien, de la ville, du village ou du village qui accueillera la performance.  Symposium consiste en une pratique de disponibilité, pour se déplacer vers son partenaire, en une action de «°migration°» et de mise à disposition réciproque. Sur scène, un seul élément, une boîte, avec laquelle le public est appelé à interagir, à ajouter sa propre pensée ou à encourager l'avenir. La boîte voyagera avec David, de place en place, créant ainsi des relations invisibles et anonymes entre des inconnus.

In the streets and squares that we have been carrying in our pockets for a long time, perhaps for lives, as amulets or as secret tales, we will try to bring a look of wonder. Danced collective action will make us live those woven and rewoven places of stories and memories as blank, virgin canvases, as unexplored places full of potential. The pure and open look will be the main ingredient of this magic, as well as the alliance of those who return to live them together.

Dans les rues et sur les places que nous portons dans nos poches depuis si longtemps, depuis des vies peut-être, comme des amulettes ou comme des contes secrets, nous essaierons de porter un regard d'émerveillement. L'action collective dansée nous fera vivre ces lieux tissés et tissés d'histoires et de souvenirs comme des toiles blanches, vierges, comme des lieux inexplorés pleins de potentiel. Le regard pur et ouvert sera l'ingrédient principal de cette magie, ainsi que l'alliance de ceux qui les revivent ensemble.

La vie nous chatouille pour évoquer les émotions d'aujourd' hui. A travers le corps et l'esprit, caractérisant la recherche corporelle sur le mouvement et les états émotionnels, on veut trouver une première tentative d'interaction sur le concept d'appartenance. Inspiré d'une Eve contemporaine, un voyage associé à une mémoire féminine.

"Carla Segovia et Guillermo Aguilar ont commencé à collaborer en 2017 après avoir découvert leur affinité créative en travaillant en tant que membres du Colectivo Querido Venado. Ils ont créé leur premier duo intitulé One Hit Wonder au Mexique, mais ont rapidement voyagé à l'étranger lorsqu'ils ont remporté SóLODOS en Danza au Costa Rica en 2018. Ce prix leur a donné l'opportunité de présenter leur vision artistique à travers certains des festivals d'été les plus importants d'Espagne : Cádiz en Danza, Nexos , Danza no Calustro, Trayectos, Corpo(a)Terra, Deltebre Dansa, Figures es MOU et Certamen Burgos. & NY One Hit Wonder est devenu un habitué des prestigieux festivals mexicains et a été présenté dans différentes communautés du Costa Rica et du Guatemala.
En 2020, ils ont commencé à travailler sur H.A.R.L.E.M., qui est devenu finaliste aux 4x4 TJ Nights, l'un des plus importants concours de danse contemporaine au Mexique. "

H.A.R.L.E.M est un duo de danse contemporaine qui emprunte des éléments de la vieille école voguer et les mélange avec le folklore mexicain jeu de jambes. Le dialogue entre ces formes de mouvement fonctionne comme une proposition contemporaine puissante et sur-stylisée qui injecte des rythmes malades et des dynamiques sonores folles dans les séquences de danse déjà bourrées.

A prison represents a powerful sentence of punishment and a forced limitation of freedom. Totalitarian regimes have used this establishment to subjugate free speech through intimidation and torture. How can such an experience affect the perception one has on its body, movements, and reactions. As a dancer, Bassam Abou Diab, attempts to embody the reaction of inhuman practices, leading to a world of fantasy, allowing the body to transcend into the supernatural. Dancing and dreaming in order to survive the pain.	

Une prison représente une condamnation puissante et une limitation forcée de la liberté. Les régimes totalitaires ont utilisé cet établissement pour assujettir la liberté d'expression par l'intimidation et la torture. Comment une telle expérience peut-elle affecter la perception que l'on a de son corps, de ses mouvements et de ses réactions. En tant que danseur, Bassam Abou Diab, tente d'incarner la réaction de pratiques inhumaines, conduisant à un monde fantasmatique, permettant au corps de se transcender dans le surnaturel. Danser et rêver pour survivre à la douleur.

Nostos – in Greek νόστος – return, is the word that conveys that sense of circularity of the journey of existence whose ultimate goal is to reach oneself. Nostos is one of the oldest and most widespread literary motifs, whose archetype is precisely the long journey of Ulysses; a journey that, significantly, is a return: its objective is not to lead the hero to a destination, but to bring him back in a circular way – more experienced in life and therefore wiser – to his original starting point: at home. A physical home, Ithaca. An inner home, self-knowledge.		

Nostos – en grec νόστος – retour, est le terme qui transmet ce sens de circularité du voyage de l'existence dont le but ultime est d'arriver à soi-même. Le Nostos est compté parmi les motifs littéraires les plus anciens et les plus répandus, dont l'archétype est précisément le long voyage d'Ulysse; un voyage qui, de manière significative, est un retour: son objectif n'est pas de conduire le héros à un but, mais de le ramener de manière circulaire – plus expert de la vie et donc plus sage – à son point de départ d'origine: à la maison. Une maison physique, Ithaque. Une maison intérieure, la connaissance de soi.

LAZARUS serial version is a performance inspired by the theme of REBIRTH, born from an idea of Giulio De Leo and developed in close collaboration with Erika Guastamacchia. A body lying on a table and revived by dance becomes the fulcrum of identity for the new community that gathers to watch over it. LAZARUS reflects on the ability of the movement to regenerate the body starting from the fundamental vital acts, according to an organic logic of listening. LAZARE réfléchit sur la capacité du mouvement à régénérer le corps à partir des actes vitaux fondamentaux, selon une logique organique d'écoute. La performance, initialement destinée à la production de contenu multimédia, a manifesté dès les premiers essais un caractère incisif dans la relation avec les lieux urbains et les attractions culturelles, trouvant ainsi une dimension performative inattendue site specific.

Second edition of the International Contemporary Dance Festival that combines entertainment, workshops, performance with the communities and talent promotion.  Shows, emerging talents, communities and collateral events that dialogue with the architecture of urban spaces and museums: from June 24 to July 10 in Ruvo di Puglia back the DANCERS en plein air, the festival of contemporary dance organized by the Menhir Company under the artistic direction of the choreographer Giulio De Leo and with the support of the Municipality of Ruvo di Puglia, Apulian Public Theatre, Puglia Region – Department of Tourism and Cultural Industry, management and enhancement of cultural heritage and Ministry of Culture.

Two days of prologue and a dense program that will embrace two weekends of summer: thus takes shape the second edition of a project that is inspired by the famous tomb fresco "The dancers of Ruvo di Puglia" and that imagines to revive the protagonists allowing them to dance freely in urban spaces; to live dance as a fusion between city, body, culture, humanity, as a search for self and collective memory thanks to the movement that creates relationship with places and people. Starting from this suggestion, the festival intends to open a reflection on the theme of thearchaeology of dance: a real anthropological investigation on the origin of the gesture, on the stratifications and sedimentations of memories, on the cultural legacies and experiences that shape the personal or collective dimension.



Deuxième édition du Festival International de Danse Contemporaine qui conjugue spectacle, ateliers, performances avec les communautés et promotion des talents.
Spectacles, talents émergents, communautés et événements collatéraux qui dialoguent avec l’architecture des espaces urbains et des musées°: du 24 juin au 10 juillet à Ruvo di Puglia revient LE Danceras EN plein air, le festival de danse contemporaine organisé par la Compagnia Menhir sous la direction artistique du chorégraphe Giulio De Leo et avec le soutien de la municipalité de Ruvo di Puglia, du théâtre public des Pouilles, de la région des Pouilles – Assessorat de l'industrie touristique et culturelle, de la gestion et de la valorisation des biens culturels et du ministère de la Culture.

Deux jours de prologue et une programmation dense qui embrassera deux week-ends d’été°: c'est ainsi que prend corps la deuxième édition d'un projet qui s'inspire de la célèbre fresque funéraire «°Les danseuses de Ruvo di Puglia°» et qui imagine en remettre en vie les protagonistes en leur permettant de danser librement dans les espaces urbains°; de vivre la danse comme fusion entre ville, corps, culture, humanité, comme recherche de soi et de la mémoire collective grâce au mouvement qui crée une relation avec les lieux et les personnes.

A partir de cette suggestion, le festival entend ouvrir une réflexion sur le thème de l'archéologie de la danse: une véritable enquête anthropologique sur l'origine du geste, sur les stratifications et sédimentations de mémoires, sur les héritages culturels et les expériences qui façonnent la dimension personnelle ou collective.


Bodies are called to smooth their borders and orient themselves in space to generate relationship and meaning. The choreographic speech unfolds fluid and dynamic, marked by proximity, pauses, crossings and suspensions. GENESI moves towards the historical and cultural Mediterranean horizon and questions the dynamics of flows and the relationship with the inhabited space, as a space for crossing / welcoming and ownership / resistance. Everything happens in a circular space, a place that gathers and calls to gather, in which to be observed and from which to look at the world. Les corps sont appelés à lisser leurs frontières et à s'orienter dans l'espace pour générer des relations et du sens. Le discours chorégraphique se déroule fluide et dynamique, marqué par la proximité, les pauses, les croisements et les suspensions. GENESI regarde vers l'horizon historique et culturel méditerranéen et questionne la dynamique des flux et le rapport à l'espace habité, comme espace de croisement / accueil et d'appropriation / résistance. Tout se passe dans un espace circulaire, un lieu qui rassemble et appelle à se rassembler, dans lequel être observé et à partir duquel regarder le monde. WHERE THE SEA BEGINS will be a moment of sharing and exchange online. Artists and operators will be questioned about their perspectives and visions for the future of dance and performative arts in general. The topics of discussion will evolve around the values we find in transmission, crisis as a new departure, togetherness, creativity and change. The meeting will be moderated by Stefania Di Paolo and it will involve Elisa Barucchieri, Giulio De Leo, Petra Hrascanec, Sanna Myllylahti, Albert Quesada and Omar Rajeh.

Where the Sea Begins est un moment de partage et d'échange en ligne. Les artistes et les opérateurs culturels seront interrogés sur leurs perspectives et leurs visions pour l'avenir de la danse et des arts performatifs en général. Les sujets de discussion évolueront autour des valeurs que l'on retrouve dans la transmission, la crise comme nouveau départ, la solidarité, la créativité et le changement. La réunion sera animée par Stefania Di Paolo et aura pour invités Elisa Barucchieri, Giulio De Leo, Petra Hrascanec, Sanna Myllylahti, Albert Quesada et Omar Rajeh.

Where the Sea Begins

A walk throughout the centre of Bari, is a walk together with Giulio De Leo, Ines Pierucci and two among the most important choreographers based in Bari: Roberta Ferrara and Ezio Schiavulli. Bari, the main city of Apulia Region, looks on to the Mediterranean sea and is characterised by a long history of exchanges and trades. A crossroads of different religions strictly linked to the tradition of Saint Nicola, whose relics rest into the Basilica Pontificia church. In the last ten years the city become one of the most dynamic contemporary dance scenes in the South of Italy. The walk will carry the audiences into Bari Vecchia and will discover some important venues of culture inhabited by the site specific performances by Roberta Ferrara, Ezio Schiavulli and Giulio De Leo/Erika Guastamacchia.

COMMUNITY IN CIRCLE est une promenade dans le centre de Bari avec Giulio De Leo, Ines Pierucci et deux des chorégraphes les plus importants basés à Bari: Roberta Ferrara et Ezio Schiavulli. Bari, la principale ville de la région des Pouilles, donne sur la mer Méditerranée et se caractérise par une longue histoire d'échanges et de métiers. C’est un carrefour de différentes religions strictement lié à la tradition de Saint Nicolas, dont les reliques reposent dans l'église Basilica Pontificia. Au cours des dix dernières années, la ville est devenue l'une des scènes de danse contemporaine les plus dynamiques du sud de l'Italie. La promenade mènera le public à Bari Vecchia à la découverte des lieux de culture importants habités par les performances hors es murs de Roberta Ferrara, Ezio Schiavulli et Giulio De Leo / Erika Guastamacchia.
