A walk throughout the centre of Bari, is a walk together with Giulio De Leo, Ines Pierucci and two among the most important choreographers based in Bari: Roberta Ferrara and Ezio Schiavulli. Bari, the main city of Apulia Region, looks on to the Mediterranean sea and is characterised by a long history of exchanges and trades. A crossroads of different religions strictly linked to the tradition of Saint Nicola, whose relics rest into the Basilica Pontificia church. In the last ten years the city become one of the most dynamic contemporary dance scenes in the South of Italy. The walk will carry the audiences into Bari Vecchia and will discover some important venues of culture inhabited by the site specific performances by Roberta Ferrara, Ezio Schiavulli and Giulio De Leo/Erika Guastamacchia.
MENHIR is a contemporary dance organization based in Ruvo di Puglia - Metropolitan City of Bari, South of Italy. Since 2009 realized several productions, international educational courses, international programs and audience engagement projects (LE DANZATRICI, archeology of contemporary). Between 2018 and 2020 Menhir diffused more than 40 performances in the regional and national contemporary dance scene and GENESI, the last creation by Giulio De Leo, was presented in Matera Capitale 2019. Since 2017 Menhir is responsible of TALOS FESTIVAL dance program and since 2019 is partner of Fondazione Fabbrica Europa in Florence for the realization of CRISOL, creative processes.
