Silk Paper and Bruises is an experimental stop motion dance film made by Gabriella Engdahl exploring norms and expectations in the dance industry where traditional stereotypes are still impactful. Partly based on her personal experiences and notes, it takes us through a poetic experience of hungry dressing rooms, self-doubt and cracking bones. The film uses barbie dolls to portray a bigger issue within the society of how womxn's bodies are represented, presented and talked about. Photos © Gabriella Engdahl
