How it works

Is where you can explore and discover all the artistic and cultural events that will be live streamed. The events are listed individually in chronological date and time. If an event belongs to a festival or a specific program then it will be tagged with the name of the program/festival. You can search for events with specific categories, organizers, artists, or cities.

The listing in this page highlights the full program of different cultural institutions and/or festivals. Moreover, it highlights the cities where different events are taking place. From this page you can also access the individual city pages to discover other previous and future events that are, or were, programmed in the city. This pages highlights the full program of a festival or program and maintain its artistic vision and focus. Users will be able to access the festivals or specific programs and discover the performances, workshops, talks, and other activities of a festival or a cultural institution.

Each person mentioned on the Platform will have an individual page with a short biography and links to the artistic events, workshops, talks that s/he participated in. Not only artists are highlighted but also the wider community of people working around a performance, event or festival.

It is a space where recordings of live performances and/or video dance creations are stored after they are live streamed. Fabiola and her Mother moved to Canning Town London from Portugal in 2008. In 2018 they moved out. This film honours those 10 years by making a dance with the forces of union and separation - between two lovers, a mum and daughter, a country and its continent.

A human flock flows through wavy fields until an unenlightened hunter crosses its path. Environmental dance film or audiovisual meditation on Fibonacci numbers patterned in the landscape, herd behaviour, film structure and music.
Fibonacci is a series of numbers that form patterns, related to the golden ratio.

Departures tells the story of Giralda, an undertaker who accompanies deceased human beings into their afterlife. Interpreted with the means of Spanish flamenco dance and music, and set at an old East German ship canal lift, the film creates an associative fusion between Northern and Southern Europe, movement and silence, farewell and eternity. Départs raconte l'histoire de Giralda, une croque-mort qui accompagne des êtres humains décédés dans leur vie après la mort. Hank does not fit in. Riding his motorcycle enables him to clear his mind. Riding over 130kmh everything turns black and white. During his nightly drives his thoughts and reality become deeply entwined.

Hank ne s'intègre pas. Conduire sa moto lui permet de se vider l'esprit. A plus de 130 km/h, tout devient noir et blanc. Au cours de ses promenades nocturnes, ses pensées et sa réalité deviennent profondément entrelacées.

A group of people emerges from the water. They try to work against the current of the river and the crowd of people in the city, but surrender to the flow and are washed ashore. Going with the flow or against it, resistance and devotion manifest as a basic instinct. A strategy of survival.

Un groupe de personnes émerge de l'eau. Ils essaient de travailler à contre-courant de la rivière et de la foule des gens de la ville, mais s'abandonnent au courant et sont rejetés sur le rivage. Aller avec le courant ou contre lui, la résistance et la dévotion se manifestent comme un instinct de base. Une stratégie de survie.

How to overcome a harsh environment? People are living like ants. Sunlight may not be inevitable, but rain may bring clarity to the mind and body. The ant is getting used to being abused and enjoys the rain that brings vitality. Will it die? Maybe, but at least it lived courageously.

Comment surmonter un environnement difficile? Les gens vivent comme des fourmis. La lumière du soleil n'est peut-être pas inévitable, mais la pluie peut apporter de la clarté à l'esprit et au corps. La fourmi s'habitue à être maltraitée et profite de la pluie qui lui apporte de la vitalité. Va-t-il mourir ? Peut-être, mais au moins il a vécu courageusement.

This intimate study of creativity follows choreographer Alexander Ekman’s production of A Swan Lake for the Norwegian National Ballet – all the way from first ideas to final result. A veritable army of artists and staff take on unique challenges, including creating a 6000 litre lake onstage.

Slow

Starting in the early nineties in Eastern Europe, an Asian fungus has gradually conquered the European continent, infecting almost all ash trees. The symptoms are very severe, many cases leading to the death of most trees. As a result, it is assumed that the ash tree in Europe will soon be close to extinct.
 Choreographer and dancer Dagmar Dachauer was inspired by the sad faith of the European ash tree, and linked it to personal loss in her own life. Finis est cinis: Ash is what remains. Ash is a eulogy for the ash tree and for Prasthan Dachauer, who passed away in 2016.

'Cameras of December' is the first edition of a monthly series of video dance programs. Cinedans curates this first edition and puts together a diverse and rich program of works selected from different cities around the World. From Rotterdam to Taipei, Tehran, Oslo, and Mount Kangrinboqe, the program carries evocative themes, movements, concepts and challenges.

«Les Cameras de Décembre» est la première édition de la série mensuelle du programme de vidéo danse. Cinedans est le curateur de cette première édition et met en place un programme diversifié et riche d'œuvres sélectionnées dans différentes villes du monde.
