Choreographer and dancefilm director, Chenglong Tang is a graduate of the National Academy of Dance in Beijing. Following a career as a dancer in the National Dance Company of China, he becomes an independent artist and explores the universe of possibilities offered by the stage and the screen. He creates large-scale choreographic pieces such as "Xishi" and "Jasmine", " Embroidered Niang ". He also directs large commissioned stage productions inspired by traditional dances as "The Flowers of War", "Nine coloured deer" or "Sister lover River". He is also the author of several short dance films. His fifth short, "Gatha" is the winner in the category "films of more than 10 minutes" at the San Francisco Dance Film Festival 2018 and received the Grand Prize at the DAN.CIN.LAB Festival the same year.
