Beirut Physical Lab is an independent organization that aims to develop the physical theater and contemporary dance scene in Beirut and its surroundings. Its objective is to support amateur and professional artists by creating a safe space to express themselves, work on their personal projects, and give them tools to develop their skills. Beirut Physical Lab focuses on the language of movement in performing art by encouraging artists to deepen the relation of their art and bodies to the local context, by making dance education more accessible and reducing the cultural gap present in the country.

Bassam Abou Diab

Bassam Abou Diab is a Lebanese actor, dancer and choreographer focusing on contemporary dance and folklore. He has been dancing with Maqamat Dance Company for several years where he has worked in four creations “Mushrooms and Fig Leaves”, “Hibr”, “That Part of Heaven” and “Watadour”. Bassam has also performed in many theater plays in Lebanon. In addition, he created, choreographed and danced in 3 performances: "Not connected", "Under the Flesh" and “Of What I remember”. Bassam is currently part of APAP (Association of Performing Arts Presenters) – Performing Europe 2020. He is regularily teaching different workshops in Lebanon: Dabke workshop; that he already gave in Spain, Lithuania, France, Italy and Germany; Contemporary Dabke, Contemporary dance and Rituals and Movements workshop.
