Since 2005, Hors-Lits provides artistic performance opportunities in local residents’ homes. Created by Léonardo Montecchia in Montpellier, this concept of site-specific creation and encounters between artists, inhabitants and audiences has spread to more than 50 cities around the world. Montecchia entrusted local artists and cultural operators to design and implement their own local versions of the Hors-Lits programme. For this first edition in Belfort, entitled 'Hors-Lits Belfort-Tunis #1', VIADANSE gives carte blanche to Tunisian artist Selim Ben Safia, choreographer and founder of Al Badil. Ben Safia designed a journey across the city in which artists from France, Tunisia, Morocco and Madagascar will present short performances in four different locations.
VIADANSE
VIADANSE is a space for contemporary dance creation. Headed by two choreographers, Hela Fattoumi and Eric Lamoureux, it serves as an artistic incubator for the artistic directors' new creations. It also welcomes artists and dance companies throughout the year as part of the artistic residency program. The production and touring office organizes tours of Fattoumi-Lamoureux's works in France and internationally. In parallel, VIADANSE implements educational activities, outreach and awareness building programmes, intended to strengthen the knowledge and appreciation of contemporary dance across the Burgundy and Franche-Comte region where VIADANSE is located.
